I'm a 30-something mom of two with a background in skincare and cosmetics retail. I have been a working professional makeup artist for over 6 years, working on fashion sets, weddings, even book covers for politicians in the DC area. I run a home-based beauty business where I do lash extensions, spray tanning, and give makeup and skincare lessons to women of all ages and races.
I created this blog to showcase my endless beauty knowledge and product experiences. I say endless not because I have an ego the size of Texas, but because I never allow myself to stop learning I read new product info and reviews daily, subscribe and follow all the major (and up and coming) beauty brands, and continually attend conferences and expos to bring my readers an educated viewpoint on all the latest and greatest in the beauty industry.
I grew up always loving makeup. I can remember going through my mother's and older sisters' makeup cases and getting myself into lots of trouble as a kid. One particular story involves a two year old me, a bathtub, and a big tub of Chanel No5 bath powder... Christmas morning in 7th grade I got my first "real" makeup, and from that day on I never left the house without it. All my girlfriends would ask me to do their makeup for school dances and events, and it began a pattern that would continue into adulthood. This is not only my job, it is my passion. It gives me the freedom to control my schedule to be the best mom I can be to my two young sons and the freedom to create beautiful living works of art- oh and get paid for it!
Don't forget to follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. I'm sure the next great big social media "thing" will hit soon, and I'll have to get all hip and cool and jump on that bandwagon, too. But for now, I guess this is enough!
(Oh, and in case you couldn't tell, I LOVE coffee! I've got a minor addiction to Keurig!)
